RECO REGP 25 AUG 0°
sir,
In further reference to the letter from the Department of
July the 24th. last, the Committee have much pleasure in re-
commending Miss E.Luckman to the Secretary of State as a suit-
able nurse to succeed Miss K.E.Stollard in the Civil Hospital,
Hong Kong.
Miss Luckman has recently completed a three years' engage-
ment at the Colonial Hospital, Gibraltar, where her services
have given general satisfaction, and the reports have been
excellent.
The Committee have, therefore, much pleasure in recommending
her for this vacancy, and beg to say that she will be prepared
to leave England on September 22nd.
Miss Luckmar cane specially from Bermingham on August the
17th. to see the Committee for this post, and as she was in
London they thought it might be advisable if she saw Sir Patrick
Manson for the medical certificate, which is attached to her
application form herewith enclosed. If this arrangement is
sanctioned by the Secretary of State, the Committee would be
glad if the sum of 18/10, which was repaid to Miss Luckman for
her return railway fare to Birmingham, might be refunded to the
Association at the next quarterly settlement.
I am,
Sir,
The Under Secretary of State,
Colonial Office, S.W.
Your obedient servant,
Eelith Mr. Mowbray.
Hon. Secretary.
